In Firefox
- Go to the browser's Tools menu and select Options. In the window that appears, select Content.
- Uncheck the block pop-up windows option or click Exceptions to add BlueCrossNC.com to the list of sites that you want to allow to display pop-ups.
In Safari
- Click Safari > Preferences.
- In the window that displays, click Security.

Completing the application
Creating a user ID and password
To submit an application with Blue Cross NC, you will need to create a user ID and password. Your user ID needs to be at least 6 characters long and may be a combination of letters or numbers. Special characters are not allowed (such as *, @, %).
Your password must be at least 6 characters long and must contain at least one number or symbol.
You only need one user ID and password. You can use this user ID for multiple applications, and you can use the same user ID to access Blue Connect after you purchase your Blue Cross NC plan.
Text box
There is a maximum of 256 characters allowed in the text boxes that request information about certain health conditions. Special characters (such as *, @, %) are not allowed and will cause errors.
Receiving Blue Cross NC email
Blue Cross NC email may be filtered out by some email providers as "spam." If you are expecting an email from Blue Cross NC and you have not received it in your inbox, it might be in your "junk" folder. Check with your email provider to learn how to add BlueAdv-Info.PO2.BCBSNC@bcbsnc.com and rate-quote@bcbsnc.com to your "safe" list.
How we contact you through Blue Connect
By registering for Blue Connect, you agree to enroll in the paperless delivery options available for your plan. Please note there are some documents that may need to still be mailed to you for regulatory reasons.
As a member, you can choose what information we send you and how we send it. Visit the Contact Preference Center to update your contact information. Visit the Delivery Preference tab to choose the information you want to receive and your preferred delivery method.
To unenroll in paperless delivery options and opt out of electronic communications, update your delivery preferences.
Blue Connect inbox
If you're a member, we'll send you important messages about your plan through the Blue Connect Inbox. When you have a new message, we'll alert you by email. The inbox is a great way to connect with customer service.
Note: We will only use your email address for communications about your plan or the programs you've chosen to participate in.
Linking to pages (bookmarks)
When you find a website that you think you will want to return to on a regular basis (like BlueCrossNC.com), you may find it helpful to create a "bookmark" in your web browser. We recommend that you only save BlueCrossNC.com as your bookmark so you always have the most updated and current information about Blue Cross NC that is available.
