Driving the DEI conversation

We often say that "everyone gets a seat at the table" when discussing DEI, but it's more than just having a seat. Having a voice, encouragement and open ears around that table is crucial to feeling supported – not only in the workplace, but also in your community. By focusing on DEI, we can strengthen the health equity and outcomes of not just our most underserved populations, but everyone across North Carolina. This means greater access to critical care, lower health care costs and more health care innovation. We aren't just joining conversations about DEI – we're driving them.

Recent DEI accomplishment highlights

Our partners: Our Supplier Diversity Program builds partnerships with businesses that are at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by those from underrepresented communities.
Our workplace: Our employee networks and conversations allow us to discuss DEI and plan ways to better serve our diverse members, communities and partners.
Our community: We invest in local college students through our Summer Internship Program, and we make contributions to organizations serving diverse communities.
