Your family planning journey is unique, and Blue Cross NC wants to make sure you get everything you need, every step of the way.
Did you know that many family planning services are covered as preventive care? That means many services are covered at 100% by your plan, such as:1
Well woman visits
Breastfeeding support
Gestational diabetes screenings
Depression screenings
Health care savings and benefits for both you and your baby
Breast pump savings
Did you know you can get a breast pump at no additional cost?1 You can get this benefit during your third trimester of pregnancy or after your baby arrives.
Mental health support
You go through a lot physically and emotionally during pregnancy and after baby arrives. Maternal depression screenings can help you protect your mental health. These screenings are covered as preventive care, at no extra cost to you.1
Lactation counseling
Need help with breastfeeding? You have access to nursing and lactation counseling providers who can help with nursing positions, milk supply concerns, and more.1
Personal care and baby care items
Blue365® is a free health and wellness discount program open to Blue Cross NC members.2 Check it weekly for new offers on diapers, wipes, bottles, meal subscriptions, fertility medications, prenatal vitamins, personal care items, and more.
Know what's covered under your health plan
As you start your family planning journey, you'll want to know what's covered and not covered in your Blue Cross NC plan.
Check your Benefit Booklet on your Blue Connect℠ member portal, and look for the “Family Planning” section.
You'll be able to see which benefits, services, and equipment are covered and excluded in your plan for maternity care, and infertility services.3
